We are thrilled to have artwork by David Gonzales be prizes for our Honeypalooza winners! David's work early on reflects his Native American and Hispanic Cultural Traditions & has now expanded to many styles & mediums. Through his recognizable work, he expresses his fascination with objects moving through space & time.
"Without the various species that cross-fertilize, there would be no life. The Manitou Pollinators have persistently brought forth education to the public about these essential creatures whose very lives we depend on. The variety of genera are ingenious beings that have been highly misunderstood, mistreated, and neglected due to human's lack of sanctity for life. It is with great honor that I can create a painting which honors the significance of one of them, the bee, for the Pollinator Festival. I am for anyone that supports and protects life, and the pollinator organization in Manitou is passionately devoted to these very actions. Donating art is the least I can do. I am grateful to all of those who are instrumental in educating people about the sensitive nature of this vital ecosystem and how we can bring more awareness in our lives and to the lives of others about the crucial role of these pollinators."
